Desmond, a former professional football player and restauranteur, wakes up in a strange room. He has no recollection of ever entering it, and is disgusted by its nasty, squalid condition and he begins to sense something sinister about it. However, more significantly, this room has no window and it has no door.
A voice coming from nowhere and a mirror on the wall reveal to Desmond his past life and his present condition and Desmond experiences his life from a perspective he had never considered before.
The voice confronts Desmond with the same question over and over again:
“Where are you?”
Eventually the answer becomes all too clear.

Author's note:
If to you the majesty of love is unassailable, supreme and the sole attribute lifting humanity asunder, above the level of beast, and hope is the radiant guardian of the unrealised; if the famed iron resolution of the human spirit inspires you deeply, and self-realisation - knowing that you can achieve anything you set your heart on, if all this resonates with you on a truly profound level - then it's better you don't read this book.
It's probobly not for you.
